These systems mostly comprises of the following:

A single Device that includes all the following:

  • Inverter (Hybrid)
  • Battery Charge Controller
  • Battery Bank

These systems can be configured to handle various scenarios, including but not limited to:

1. Grid-Tied (When the House's load is less than the energy produced, all the batteries are fully charged, the system will start pushing electricity back into the grid (Eskom/Municipality)

2. Backup (UPS) (Various Variations including for example: When the Grid goes down, the System starts up and supply your load from the battery bank)

3. Off Grid (Totally independent.  The Energy Produced by the PV Panels are used, and the Batteries are being charged during sunshine hours.  After dark the load uses the backup batteries for energy requirements.
